Vermont Association EO Receives Cabinet Appointment
Montpelier, VT – Vermont Governor Jim Douglas recently chose Kevin Dorn, the former executive officer of the Home Builders and Remodelers Association of Northern Vermont, to lead its Agency of Commerce and Community Development.

The Agency of Commerce and Community Development consists of three major state departments charged with improving Vermont’s job creation environment and promoting Vermont to prospective employers and tourists. The Agency also administers numerous programs that augment the quality of life in Vermont’s communities.

“I have chosen Kevin because he is a proven manager, understands the need for a diverse economic base, has a strong understanding of government affairs and the legislative process, and respects our environment,” Douglas said.  “Kevin shares my vision for more and better paying jobs and is prepared to accomplish the changes I have called for.”

Prior to his work with the Home Builders and Remodelers Association of Northern Vermont, a 375-member trade association, Dorn served as government affairs director for the Association of Realtors in Vermont and the General Aviation Manufacturers Association and Fairchild Industries, in Washington D.C.

Dorn will head an agency comprised of the Departments of Economic Development, Tourism and Marketing, and Housing and Community Affairs. [ return to top ]
